3F Farms breeds Black Copper Marans with the Standard of Perfection as the first priority, followed by egg color, then temperament.
This is a breeding program focused on maintaining correct type and structure while continuing to improve egg color over time.
 
🥚 What to Expect
Black Copper Marans are well known for their deep chocolate brown eggs.
Our flock consistently produces eggs ranging from approximately 4–8 on the Marans color scale, with the goal of pushing darker expression while maintaining quality birds.
Egg color and saturation will naturally decrease as the laying season progresses and will typically “reset” after each molt.
Eggs pictured are examples from my flock, not the exact eggs you will receive.
Due to genetics and natural variation, I cannot guarantee the exact shade of egg your hen will lay or whether speckling will occur.

Black Copper Marans tend to be docile and hardy. They handle both cold and heat well here in Utah.

Hens: ~6 lbs
Roosters: ~7–8 lbs
Average Yearly Production: 150–200 eggs
Age to Maturity: ~25 weeks

All orders are double boxed, regardless of packing method.

Individually bubble wrapped eggs
Foam shippers
Both methods are proven and reliable — this comes down to personal preference.

Hatching eggs are a gamble due to variables outside of our control, including shipping conditions, handling, and incubation practices.
Fertility is checked regularly within the flock, but hatch rates cannot be guaranteed.
