Our class starts with a brief introduction on how we raise our poultry and some tips on raising meats. As well as different breed options to best fit your goals. We give an introduction into all our equipment and how the class will progress. Each participant will get one live chicken raised here on our farm to process. We are strong believers that hands-on experiences is the best way to learn and build confidence. You will start with your live chicken and end with a full packaged and clean chicken to take home for dinner! We do cover a lot of information, so we send you home with a handout that covers the class and what was taught! Class space is very limited as we like to keep it small. We ask that all participants be at least 12 years of age. We do handle potentially dangerous equipment (i.e. knives, scissors etc.) so please keep this in mind when booking for a minor. A parent must accompany. They need to be respectful, ready to learn, capable of understanding processing, and be emotionally able to handle the class. Please note that this class is for paid participants only. Please make arrangements for smaller children prior to class.
